Biography

Nikki Taylor-Roberts is a screenwriter, director, and an Emmy-nominated producer. She is a director in PROOF OF CONCEPT — a large budget directing incubator created by Cate Blanchett and Coco Francini and Dr. Stacy L Smith. Nikki is a protégé in the DGA DDI Mentorship. She’s an episodic TV director and has directed on NBC/Dick Wolf show, CHICAGO MED. Her film, GO TO BED RAYMOND, for 20th Digital Studio’s Bite Size Halloween on Hulu, was a critic favorite in a New York Times Best 2023 Films | ‘Five Horror Movies to Stream Now’. This same film played in FOFIF’s 2nd annual MoMA screening series. She was one of the filmmakers selected for the HBO reboot of Project Greenlight produced by Issa Rea and Kumail Nanjiani. Her work has played in competitions at Festival de Cannes, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, HolyShorts, UrbanWorld and Series Fest.


She’s also produced many live shows — most notably the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Macy’s July 4th Spectacular. She’s an alum of the NBCU LAUNCH TV Directors Program, the Ryan Murphy's Half initiative, Almanack Screenwriters (formerly known as Nantucket Screenwriters Colony), and the AFI Directing Workshop for Women. She graduated from Northwestern University's RTVF Program and Columbia University School of the Arts MFA Film Program.
