Testimonials

Yoo Lee

"It’s a privilege to tell the story I want to tell.

I never know exactly how it will get done, but it always begins with a story that has been occupying space in my head for quite some time, just itching to get out. That’s how it began with A Man Who Takes Pictures in Flowers, until a wonderful tribe of changemakers, Proof of Concept, decided to lend their support and nurture the project along with nine other incredible filmmakers.

I learned so much, experienced what good leadership looks like, and came out of the Proof of Concept experience with a finished short documentary that made me a better filmmaker and a better human being. I am forever grateful."

"What I loved about Proof of Concept was that they gave me....not just the "support" but the ACTUAL budget to expand my toolkit as a filmmaker. I got to shoot a car-chase sequence on a volume stage, fly a drone on Rodeo Drive without getting arrested (cause I could actually afford to pay for a permit), and work with incredibly talented actors. I always felt supported by my EPs, who offered valuable feedback while trusting my choices.

Being able to put Dirty Films (Cate Blanchett and Coco Francini) as EPs on SKRRRT! was a real milestone. And partnering with Annenberg was meaningful, because their commitment to inclusion reflects the way I have always approached my work."
