Biography

Leaving a prestigious career in Costume Design, Courtney Hoffman wrote and directed her debut short Western film, THE GOOD TIME GIRLS starring Laura Dern, to wide acclaim. Since then, she has honed her craft as a writer for film and TV, developing and selling original stories to FX, Peacock, Sony, Freeform, Paramount and HBO Max.

Most recently, she directed an anthology episode of American Horror Stories airing in the fall, as well as commercials and music videos, including the first-ever WhatsApp Global campaign and a NYT-selected music video for Margo Price.


Her last films as a Costume Designer include BABY DRIVER, THE HATEFUL EIGHT and CAPTAIN FANTASTIC. Coming up in costume design, she worked on over 40 films and TV shows, working on projects helmed by prolific creators including Quentin Tarantino, Edgar Wright, Terrence Malick, Alma Har'el, Gia Coppola, Steven Soderbergh, Alan Ball, Francis Lawrence, Susanna Fogel and Tim Burton, among others. Her former career is immortalized on screen as she portrays the Costume Designer in a scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in ONCE UPON A TIME… IN HOLLYWOOD.
